Positively Grateful This Month and Beyond

Just in case I can’t think of something to be grateful for each day this month. This list is pretty comprehensive. I expect each of you to read every point on this sunshine of thankfulness. I can’t make you read it and the fact is I have not read it but simply glanced at the main ones. One that isn’t on there is the fact that I can’t boss you. It should probably be under independence. What I can suggest is printing it out and hanging it on the door you most often walk out when leaving your home. Then it can trigger an appreciative heart for your day. I have my copy sitting in the printer upstairs waiting to be taped up.

This should not be a November practice but a lifelong one that lasts throughout the year. My thought is that when I pray while making my Keurig cup of coffee, I should lead with one thing that I am pleased to have in my life. Whether it is the smell of the coffee brewing or that I got a call from one of my kiddos, beginning my day with gratitude rather than worry or fear will direct my heart forward. So here I sit listing the multitude of things that I have been blessed with right now.

I am not suffering a head cold but rather enjoying a time of good health.
I got to trick or treat with my grandgirl and two great grandkiddos yesterday. Also, I got to flutter around as a butterfly because Jenn shared her moomoo with me.
My Ronnie B can fix anything and is always looking at ways to improve our home and our lives.
Natalie and Nate are able to buy a house five blocks from Peugeot Sound that was built in 1918 and begin a new chapter of their family life.
Cora seems to have forgiven me for forgetting her in Ron’s truck for too long. Thankfully it was not warm outside so she was not in danger. I am horrified that I did that but grateful that she is okay and enjoyed the many treats I gave her afterward.

So here are a few of mine. Feel free to share some of yours and reach out to friends and encourage them to pick at least one thing to celebrate the next thirty days. Share with each other so nobody lets it slip their mind by day six. I ordered the book The Kindness Challenge Thirty Days to Improve Any Relationship by Shaunti Feldhahn. The premise is to not say one negative thing about someone to them or anyone else and to say something positive about them to them and share it with at least one other person. I heard a podcast that touted how relationships have improved measurably by taking this challenge. The truth is that this is how we should live all the time with everyone. But each of us can get caught up in the negative and forget to put a positive spin on others and even ourselves.

This seems like lofty goals for the month of November. But I am going to continue my Keurig prayer that should help keep me on track. Now to get off this couch and go begin packing our Chinook to get ready for our trip to Jessica’s wedding in Vegas and then on to grandkids in Washington state. Hope you have a fabulous first day of November. How many of you are decorating for Christmas today? I know a few of you who are. Enjoy. You do you. I will take on that task in December myself.

In Him,
Joyful
