Wind

The wind has been howling all day, literally blowing so hard you could hear it. People were walking around with red eyes and hair that looked like bedhead. It just makes you want to stay inside and bury your head under the pillow. I think gusty, blustery days are my least favorite.

I have used the nasty wind as an analogy for one of my first graders about his loud, bossy attitude toward his friends. He is like a strong wind in their faces. We even have a picture of a tree bent halfway over from the wind. No one likes to be blown over by the wind or other people.

It would probably be better to be thankful for having a place to be out of the wind as I sit here cozy in my house writing than to whine about the noise on my roof and the rattle of my windows. So I decided to look up reasons why this obnoxious wind is a blessing.

Wind PowerWind energy is the fastest developing renewable energy source in the US.

Wind Pollination: It is the wind that is responsible for carrying the pollen.

Okay, so there are a few good reasons for the wind.  Guess I will quit complaining and try to be thankful for even this wonderful  wind.  Someone even wrote a joke about the wind, who knew! The wind is like the air, only pushier. Funny!

But you know, I will be delighted tomorrow morning if the wind decides to DIE down or slow to a gentle breeze.

In Him,
Joyful

  1. I picked up a bird's nest that had blown out of a tree. Little things like this sadden me a lot lately. Do I cry at the drop of a hat? Well, no, but maybe at the drop of a bird's nest. Though I hate the wind, I'm grateful I least don't have to worry about my house, with babies inside, blowing away.
