Wordle Addiction and Potty Habits

Wordle………okay it is time to admit my addiction to this game. Thankfully, it is only one word puzzle a day or I would not get anything done. I must admit that last night when I found myself awake at 12:15, I almost grabbed my phone to do Wordle. What stopped me was facing a morning without Wordle if I solved it in the wee hours of this new day. I am obsessed. Let me be clear that I have not started other Wordle games that are available so I guess I am keeping myself in check a bit. Likewise, I am not posting my wins on Facebook. But I do share it with Susi daily and wait to see how she did for the day. That is a benefit since it gets us to connect daily. I bet she was glad that I didn’t ping her phone just after midnight.

My sister was obsessed with Candy Crush but that just was never my game. She used to remind me that Pat sent her lives on Facebook and I didn’t. Sorry Teri I don’t play your game. Each of us have time wasters in our lives and the truth is that is okay. It is okay to pause and be a bit mindless if it doesn’t take over our time. This is why there are swing sets so we can swing back and forth sailing through the air. Nothing is accomplished by swinging or is it? Perhaps we need down time for our brains to take a break from the fast pace of our world. Hustle and bustle is more real than it was for our grandparents and those who came before them. They made time to sit and chat over a cup of coffee or spent time reading. Today we tend to input more social media, stream more movies, and yes, play games on our ever present phones.

I have decided that I need a break, no not a potty break. But when I take a potty break, I am going to try to leave my phone outside the bathroom. It won’t be easy since I have developed a pattern of tinkling and well you know with my phone to keep me company. One could say it works better than a laxative. Maybe I should promise Susi that I don’t do Wordle on the pot. Nah, somethings are better left unsaid. Wish me luck on this new challenge. I bet my bathroom will be free for others a bit more often if I succeed. I have memories of a magazine rack in our one bathroom when I was growing up. Guess pairing other distractions with our necessary business has been around a while

In Him,

Joyful
