This picture of Caleb and Clara sure makes me chuckle. Lissa was in the dentist relaxed and enjoying quiet time while I was in the car with Mayve and Caleb having wild boy doing gymnastics. I FaceTimed Clara to have a witness to why I needed to go directly to bed at seven o’clock after an hour with crazy boy. Let me just tell you that he can operate every button in a car. He can turn anything into monkey bars. By the way now I know why they call them monkey bars. We had snacks. That may be the biggest mistake since when Lis came out with her Novocain half smile, the car looked like we had lived in it for a month. Yes, there was gum. She looked shocked that there was gum. Did you have gum? He found gum so absolutely there was a gum situation.
It is shocking how one can get exhausted in such a confined space in a short period of time. I didn’t run a 5k or even move out of the driver’s seat yet I felt like I had had three rounds of wrestling without any training. Mayve is eight months old and yet she is training under Caleb who is two and is beginning to show signs of primate behaviors. Her sweet, pudgy little hands can reach further than you can believe. She also had the continuous squirming in Noni’s arms down to a well choreographed routine. Perhaps these two great-grandkids of mine will be on an Olympic gymnastics team someday.
Noni made it through Lissa’s dental appointment however my clothes and the interior of her car will need a thorough scrub down. I think it is best to either not watch them in such a confined space or keep them strapped in their car seats. Maybe the best solution is to keep them at my house and recruit Papa as a backup. Clara’s laughter was about Caleb’s antics but also a haha to me being in the car while she was peacefully watching from two states away. The picture is fuzzy because Caleb doesn’t slow down to allow us to get a clear shot. Hope this brings a smile to your face. It is such a joy filled memory for me that I just had to share.
In Him,
Joyful
