An Easter Birthday

Lunch in a tiara with my incredible girlfriends. I may not be a princess but I am loved by some wonderful ladies. Thank you all for making me feel so special today and for being apart of my life for so many years through the laughter and the tears.

It was great having all these ladies who have walked beside me together in 1 place. What matters in life is people who share life with us. Hearing the stories they shared with each other about who I am and what I mean to each of them was so moving. I thank God for my friends, the ones with me today and all those along the way.

My birthday is on Easter this year for the 1st time I can remember. My birthday is of little importance when I think of what Christ did for us this week. He endured so much pain and carried our sins to the grave so we might have life. That leaves me in awe. The level of love He has for each of us.

In this life, we are allowed to show love to each other the way God showed His love for us. Our gestures of love pale by comparison to His ultimate gift. But today, looking around that table, seeing my friends, I realize how we love each other allows us in a small way to be Christ like. We walk beside each other through the good times and the bad, through illness, divorce, raising our kids, and this whole aging process. Leaning on each other, listening to each other, and laughing our heads off together makes us more than family, it makes us sisters.

Girlfriends are 1 of God's most wonderful gifts to each of us. I thank Him for placing each of these women in my path and for sending His Son to give me life. I am definitely feeling blessed tonight.

In Him,
Joyful
