I want my little birdhouse full of birds. That was the saying on a plaque I had in my kitchen the whole time my kiddos were growing up. My little house is full tonight. J and her daughter and 12 day old granddaughter are in the spare room, Natalie and her new beau are hanging out in the living room, Justin and I are listening to Ry's Love Lives On CD in the family room and Ron is napping in the hammock. Ah, how I love a full house. Okay, I know what you are thinking. Yes, I do appreciate my alone time and at times I have to retreat to my bed, but I love my house full of life.
That is why I fill our house with teens for Saturday morning breakfasts, have a struggling, single mom come clean a couple times a week, and have our yard work dates with my awesome girls. It is also the reason Ron and I love living on the park. All the wonderful, happy sounds continuously spill into our home through our open windows. Families are in the park swinging kids, playing with sand toys, practicing soccer or playing ultimate frisbee. We get to be the proverbial fly on the wall and enjoy their family bonding from afar.
So I will cherish my quiet times while I thank God that my life is so full of life!
In Him,
Joyful
