GO ME!

'Go me!' An enthusiastic shout out to myself. How come we are so ready to give ourselves grief over what we do wrong instead of rejoice in our successes. I am as guilty of this as anyone. My fix up Barbara list is way longer than my list of accomplishments.

It is time we become our own cheerleaders, after all we spend more time with ourselves than anyone else does. If we are encouraging instead of condemning that can only lead us to bigger accomplishments with the added confidence.

Oh, I get that the world says we are supposed to always be on the hunt for the latest self improvement and I am all for working on our faults. I mean, I plan to start that crash diet tomorrow too. But life is so much more than diets. There is something to be said for appreciating who we are and relaxing in our lives. Pushing forward to always achieve more is exhausting and often striving toward worldly ideals that are not as important as we make them.

So, 'Go me' I am here and I am listening God. Just show me how you see me as a remarkable creation that pleases you. If I am pleasing to Him, how come I can't hold up his mirror to my life and be glad for who I see? I can, if I just will.

In Him,
Joyfully encouraging myself today

  1. Our own inner voice is the one we hear the most. Learning how to control that inner voice in a way that helps us rather than hinders us is a good quality to have for sure! Thanks for the reminder. Love you!
