A Picture To Strive For

I never understood why ladies wanted to go get Glamour Shots taken and then display them in their homes. A couple of my friends had them in their entry ways back when they were popular. I guess the idea was like a senior picture for the more mature woman. But I just thought people would see the gorgeous picture then walk into the kitchen and see the real me. Disappointing! It would be like seeing celebs without the hair and makeup. So I was never interested much less tempted to spend the money. I am body insecure without the pressure of living up to a photo.

Well, this situation kind of happened to me this summer. In all our vacation photos I look like I look except one. Ron took a pic of the 2 of us and I swear it took 40 pounds off me. Now the problem is I posted it to facebook and everyone commented how great I looked and how proud they are of me. See I was dieting all spring and did lose weight but have not been very faithful this summer. So when I go back to work in a few weeks people will be expecting to see the skinny version and will be presented with the real me.

So I have 2 choices. I can just smile and know they are thinking I didn't accomplish my summer look or I can get back on track and slim down at least a bit more. Don't get me wrong, I love the picture and wish I looked like that. Maybe the right thing to do is hang it on my fridge and use it as incentive toward my goal. Hey, I could really look that good!

Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.

In Him,
