I Love My House Filled with People

 Oh Clara, you will be missed as you head back to San Diego for a bit. What a gift it has been to have you adding your laughter, tears and love to our home. I know that you are figuring out next steps in life but what Ron and I both want you to know that you have a place here when you choose to come. I don’t want to boss you or be selfish as you need to step onto your own path but what a joy it would be if Los Alamos was your home for at least awhile.  

Roshan has been like your playmate this summer. What fun to watch the two of you step into adventures together. Having a student from Nepal turn from a renter to family in just a few days. What a big personality he has and how much fun to be around. The biggest problem with sharing our home with students that desperately need housing is that we miss them so much when they move back to their college lives. The good news is we gather family friends that connect us to other cultures and expand our understanding of other’s lifestyles. It. Is even enlightening to see the. US and how we live through their eyes. 

The house will be quiet this week with Clara gone and Roshan leaving. I don’t know what our cat, Mitzi, will do without them watching her act crazy. I know Ron and I will certainly miss having them both around. Earlier Mayank went back to. Florida and is now working in Chicago. At least his plan is to return to Los Alamos this fall. He won’t be staying here but we will get to see him and Katie and spend time with them. 

It is unclear if Clara will be back next week as Jenn hopes or if she comes back in a few weeks. But what we want her to know is that she is welcome here and this is her home whenever she comes. She also needs to know how much she will be missed when she is off traveling about. Until we meet up again I am quite sure we will be bugging each other with phone calls while we sip our coffee. Miss you already Clara and you have only been gone two hours.
