Timothy Daniel Barber is now a full blown thirteen year old teenager. To celebrate we all piled in cars to go to an escape room that was a Mayan ruin theme. Even ten month old Millie crowded through the heavy tomb door to gather clues to get us the heck back out of there in under seventy minutes. There was one problem. The tomb smelled worse than dead people because Tim was not only the birthday boy but the gassy boy. So we have determined that escape rooms smell horrible. Eight people in a sealed room trying to solve math, puzzles and tomb writings so we could smell the fresh air that was not polluted by my grandson’s contributions.
Unfortunately, the buzzer ended our fun before we acquired our second artifact so we were released in shame with our heads hung low. No. Not really. This picture is of all of us with joy written all over faces. We were just thrilled to be together with each other and our wonderful Timmy. We love him in a tomb or in a room. We love him fresh air or crowded there. What fun it was to not escape our first escape room. Now we need to spend another fortune to try again another time. From my perspective we got our moneys worth since. We got to be investigating for the entire seventy minutes. The family that got to brag on the board with escaping in only thirty-six minutes only got to have half the adventure. My guess is that it wasn’t even their first attempt at tomb robbing. Later in our car we had a whiff and everyone said-it smells like an e-mail
By the way my brother-in-love, Allen, is birthday buddies with Tim and he turned seventy on Thursday. Now that is old. Bet he wouldn’t have escaped either.
In Him,
Joyful
