Common sense~but is sense common? That was the question in my Bible study this morning. It made me stop and ponder. So far I don’t even know what that means exactly.
Common sense is sound, practical judgement that’s usually developed through life experience rather than any formal training.
So if common sense is formed by life experiences can it be that common? Since all of us have unique experiences then we all have a different sense of how to navigate life and our experiences.
Common sense is sound, practical judgement concerning everyday matters, or basic ability to perceive, understand, and judge in a manner that is shared by nearly all people.
Now that is confusing. If we all agree on how to navigate life but we all have different experiences we come to situations with different ideas or in a word~common sense. Is this giving you a brain freeze without the ice cream pleasure?
I guess the next time I judge someone else for not using common sense, I will be less judgmental and realize that just because I perceive something as a sound solution to a problem, they may view it in a different way. Neither of us are wrong. Perhaps common sense is more about results than process. That makes perfect common sense!
In Him,
Joyful
