Our Home Filled with Laughter, Music and Joy

It is sunny this morning and our home is full of life and people just the way I like it. There is a post doctoral gentleman from the Czech Republic staying with us. What a delight he is and even I can converse with this nuclear physicist. A friend who is selling his home is staying with us along with his two year old grandson and pooch. Natalie is doing school remotely this week so she is curled up on the couch taking a quiz as Felix and Liam explore the toys in the toy box. A bustling home is a happy home full of conversations and connections. Felix already made me proud when he ran in and found Liam with his favorite train. He paused and then found something else to play with. What an example to each of us to share and take a breath before reacting in selfishness.

So far these two wee ones have played cars, ate a snack on Noni’s kitchen rugs, had a dance party and just enjoyed each other. I love it. The two of them just enjoying one another. What a joy to have our house filled with so many.

It occurs to me that my twenty-five year old self feared I would never be a mom or grandma and have a home filled with laughter. Infertility robbed me of that vision. The gift of birth mothers who trusted us with their precious children created this family that we love. Now Ronnie B. and I are great-grandparents. How cool is that? To watch our son’s daughter be such and incredible wife and mother. God is good and His timing is perfection. So here I sit just wallowing in the fullness of my heart and my home.

In Him,

Joyful
