The Smell of Bread Baking and a Head on Every Pillow

Our driveway is spilling over into the street. There are cars a plenty stacked up outside. Inside the beds are full as others rest their heads on pillows with clean pillowcases. Jakub is here in our beach room from the Czech Republic, Clara is in the Native room staying with us from San Diego. Che’, Elissa, and five week old Caleb are upstairs in my room. And I am in the library on the twin bed that is oh so comfortable. Let me add that Mitzi, our sweet kitty, is lounging on the couch as I tap out this post on my keyboard. It is always a joy when our lives are full and our home is bustling. This morning there is the smell of fresh bread in the bread maker that will be a delight as loved ones begin to wake up to this new day.

As for me, I am missing Ronnie B. who is on a sailboat to the Bahamas but I am thankful I chose to pass on this trip. It is time for me to be here in our home rather than scooting off to a pillow that is not my own. My routine of Bible study and blogging while enjoying a hot cup of coffee in my spot is treasured. Ron and I travel so much of the time but there are times we just need to be home and rest. Today, this week, this month is one of those times for me.

Mitzi and I are sharing a quiet morning before everyone wakes and our home begins to bustle with activity, conversations, laughter and oh yer, fresh bread. My homemade choke cherry jam will be a welcome addition to the breakfast fare.

 In Him,

Joyful
