Why didn’t I know about the Amplified Bible? Donna said hers was worn out. So it is clearly not a new version of God’s word. I purchased it after hearing Lanessa quote scripture from it. Having clarification seemed like a way to get better understanding. What I didn’t know I would also get is the cross references that I have been longing for. Connecting the stories of the Old Testament to the Gospel of Jesus has been so illuminating for me. How did I study and attend church my whole life but never get the full picture of how the Old Testament foretold the coming of Jesus? It just shows that although there is always more to uncover.
Faith Womack considers herself a Bible Nerd and so do I. With an empty nest and retirement the pace of my life is not as busy. It has given me the opportunity to set a morning routine of time in His Word and just spending time in His presence through prayer. Then I blog. This gives me direction for my thoughts that I so want to share with my faithful few followers.
I love my Abide Bible as well as The Passion translation which sit on my coffee table right beside my coffee cup. Side note~my coffee cup says We Rise by Lifting Others. It is a good reminder to me to lift others up with my words and actions rather than tearing them down with my judgement and criticism. The Amplified Bible that happens to be purple is on my dining room table. I feel like more of a student when I am learning to connect the old with the new. So I sit at my table being enlightened in the love story that is God’s Word. That is a perfect place for my second cup of coffee and time with my Father.
In Him,
Joyful
