us, not you and i but us
for we are one together.
This is part of a poem I wrote in high school when I first started dating my Ronnie B. I still love this line and looking back over five decades plus of life together, I wouldn’t change who God partnered me with. Back then I was thirsty to spend time with Ron and today I still feel more complete when we are together. But over the years I have become more secure in our love and am comfortable when one of us goes off on an adventure without the other. Ron has his archeology field trips and I am currently up in the northwest with grandkids. It always makes my heart pitter patter when he calls to share a sunset or let me know that he is thinking of me. So we are one together but also one when we are apart for a bit.
Our lives are filled with family and fun. What my teenage self wrote in a simple poem has turned into a life of us being one together. Here is a picture of Ronnie B and me sharing a meal in Barcelona. Whether we are in roaming in our rv, sitting on the back porch, or jetting off to another continent, or smooching on grandbabies, Ron and I are living life that we could never have dreamed we would live and loving every minute.
In Him,
Joyful
