Yes, I am a Silly Goose and You Might be One too

The other day Julie called me a silly goose. I hadn’t heard that term in a while. My Aunt Judy and Uncle Bill used to call us silly goose and slop head. It made me smile hearing it again. What fun memories pop up when I hear a familiar saying. My dad used to look at a baby or toddler and proclaim that she’s a darlin’. That always showed his heart for little ones.

I hope there are silly or sweet sayings that my kids and grands will remember that I share. For decades, I have been asking them to ask me to get their beefy legs. Now it is Noni please get my beefy legs followed by the giggles at a thigh thickle. Spider fingers always gets them smiling in anticipation for a chin tickle.

Things that remind us of one another are just precious. Clara is about butterflies and birds. Jenn is unicorns and angels. Anytime I see a quilt beautifully made I think of the creativity or Susi and Pat. My home is filled with hearts, mother and child sculptures, and the word joy. Jesus others and then yourself. Petroglyphs remind me of my Ronnie B and anything chef related makes me think of Kenzie. I could go on and on sharing what brings you to mind. The truth is our connections and memories are not only in photographs but common day items that remind us of one another. I love that.

Don’t worry about being silly enough. You are and others will remember those things about you that make you unique enough to put a smile on their face. Just thinking about you and all you are makes my life better. Don’t stop being you and sharing it with me. I love that! Okay, one more. Katie Fry having Ryan sleep in her bathroom when she was willing to babysit all four of my kids and needed to separate them for naps is another smile I enjoy. Ryan was offended or feigned that he was. Bathtub naptimes should be a thing in all houses. Katie even gave him a pillow and blanket. Nothing to complain about here.

In Him,

Joyful
