A cooler full of snacks and drinks, a golf cart to provide the perfect view and transportation around the golf course, so now we are all set to watch Tanner in his golf tournament. Great plan! Ok, so Tanner didn't agree with us. I think he may have been embarrassed by his parents and sister put-putting around the course, in our cart, watching him play in his first high school golf tournament.
We were enjoying the golf and noticing some interesting things about Tanner's fellow golfers. Since the three of us were clueless about the rules of golf, we found some fun ways to entertain ourselves. We decided to nickname Tanner's cogolfers. So 1 guy kept hitting his ball into the woods, so we nicknamed him Woody. Another kept cheating, so he called him Loser. Of course we did know enough about golf to know when to whoop and holler when Tanner dropped his little white ball in the hole. Ok, so embarrassing our kids is great fun!
It didn't make Tanner happy when we were munching our sandwiches and chips either. But he kind of got angry, when we offered some to his fellow golfers food. What, we were just trying to be friendly. Guess it must be against the rules to eat on the course. That doesn't seem right! After a long relaxing day in the cart, we decided being golf fans was pretty darn enjoyable. On the ride home, Tanner told us we were uninvited to his future golf outings. I don't understand, Cam always let us cheer him on at the football games and we could eat whatever we wanted in the stands.
Fun at our kids expense, terrible. But it is so much fun! Hey, our kids embarrass us, so it seems only right to repay them. 8-)
In Him,
Joyful
