Whoever Refreshes Others Will Be Refreshed

Proverbs 11-25 A generous person will prosper; 
   whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.

This verse is so very true. The wonderful memories, the beautiful moments in life are the ones when we have been able to be there for those we love. I thank God for the opportunities he has placed in my path through Young Life, scouts, school, life, and now through Celebrate Recovery. 

The relationships and support I receive from the young people in my life are my most treasured reward. I am a lover of Facebook, texting, and new ways of connecting. It is so cool when I get a message from a college student who was one of my students or YL kids. They share how great they are doing and what is up in their lives. I am humbled when they ask me to be a reference for them. Me?! I am one of their people, someone who impacted their life. 

How refreshing is it to matter in the lives of those who matter most to us. I am thrilled I have had opportunities to be Christlike in other's lives. Saying yes when situations to serve present themselves is key. This fall I made a choice to put my daughter and myself first and we are taking sign classes. Then Celebrate Recovery became an opportunity that I felt God gently pressed His hands in my back and told me to get involved. 

I am refreshed by those who reach out to me at just the right moment. Refreshed by the love and support from family, friends, and others. My Daddy was a generous man and I pray I can always see the value in giving. 

It is not what you gather but what you scatter in life that matters.
