Jealous Of The Angels

Our heart's are breaking for out friends, the Bacas who said goodby to their 18 year old son, Derek, yesterday. Knowing their pain personally from our loss of our precious Ryan reminds us of how blessed we are that our son loved the Lord. Picturing him welcoming Derek up their around the throne makes me smile. Ryan and Derek had so many common interests as well as struggles. Losing a son to suicide is so painful. But remembering the joy they each brought into our lives in the too short years we had them with us helps. I believe that Ry will be around the throne with the other angels welcoming Lorri and Allen's son into the kingdom. But boy are we all jealous of the angels spending time with our sons.

In Him,
Joyful

    1. Thank you so much. Your words and your song mean so much. Our little town of Los Alamos has lost so many of our youth to suicide in the past couple of years. Saturday we were at a friend's son's funeral and he was only 18. My son Ryan took his life the day after Easter almost 2 years ago.
My blog has led me through the sorrow and pain and kept me focused on Christ. The day after Ryan's death I blogged and haven't stopped since. My husband and I have been led to leadership in Celebrate Recovery to reach out to others with hurts, hangups, and habits.

Your powerful song reminds me that though I can't put my arms around Ry, Christ is right with him. I must admit I haven't worried about his safety for almost two years now.
