Wonderful vacation so full of family and incredible scenery. A few heartaches for friends back home. Our church burned down on the 4th of July, possibly arson. Then my friend's mother-in-love was found dead when her husband and his brother went to help her move. Yesterday, our son, Tanner, called and he has some broken ribs from goofing around too zealously with some friends.
My conclusion is that although I have not been there to support those I love through these hardships, life happens. It is important to take time out and travel to those we don't get to see everyday and enjoy other parts of the country. So I am thankful that we made this trip.
Soon enough we will be home to roll up our sleeves and get back to life and those we love back home.
