Kidney Stone Surgery~ Peaceful?

I have been blessed with another kidney stone. That may not seem like a blessing but it has certainly given me time to reflect. How blessed I am that I live moments from a hospital, that drugs can control the pain, that we have insurance to help with the expenses, and that Ron was there to support me through the agonizing moments.

This journey started in the wee hours of the morning Monday. By Tuesday I had gone through the surgery and was able to come home on Wednesday. Here it is Saturday and I am still resting and peaceful. Before the 'STONE', I had my head full of all that I needed to accomplish at work and at home this week. Just when I get in that mode of checking tasks off my list, God shows me that this world can go on without me.

I have a sign on my car window that says, 'Be Joyful' NOTW not of this world. I think about that NOTW sometimes. I get so caught up in life and all the 'to do's' that  I don't slow down and spend time with my creator. The ultimate goal is for eternal life but I live like all the worldly stuff is my top priority.

Even with all the pain and discomfort this week, I was peaceful. God blanketed me with His love and the prayers of others. I am learning to embrace whatever life tosses me instead of letting it frustrate me. It is clear that in a day or 2 I will be back in the bustle of life and working diligently on my checklist. Until then, I will enjoy the visits with friends who stop by and all the extra naps and reading I am getting.

Phillipians 4:7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
