"What we do for ourselves alone dies with us.
What we have done for others and the world remains and is immortal."
Albert Pine
Too often I get caught up in gotta haves and don't consider them to be wanna haves.
Last week, I totaled my car and will need to get another car soon.
Typical me saying I don't want this and I don't want that
and I must have this and I surely need that.
So the reality is that if God places the right car in front of me even if it is another silver car with no moon roof, I will survive. In fact, I need to feel blessed that I am here after the accident to look for a car at all.
One of my favorite quotes is:
It is not what you gather but what you scatter that matters in life.
Given that.
I think I need to focus on where God is leading me to serve
instead of fretting over whether I will end up with
the perfect pearl white ride.
Think I need to sit down and make some God Bless You Bags
and be thankful for what I have.
God Bless You Bags
1 salty snack ( peanuts, cheese crackers)
1 sweet snack (raisins, fruit snacks)
1 Capri Sun (or other boxed drink)
1 hand sanitizer (wet wipe)
Note of Hope
Place all in brown paper bag and keep in the back seat of your car to hand out to anyone
who needs a little help and to show someone notices and cares.
I used to call these 'homeless' bags but I didn't just give them to the homeless
and each time I hand one out the person says, 'God Bless You.'
It is so true that we always get a greater gift than we give when we put OTHERS
before ourselves and the blessings we share will live on.
In Him,
Joyful
