I am ready for the Winter Solstice to be here and gone. This is Christmas time most everyone's favorite time of the year. But I need sunshine. I dread the late fall as the days get shorter each day forcing us to get up in the dark and come home in the dark. There is no way I would want to live any farther north. Ron and I both had a rough time living in northern California where it is dark so much of the day. Even my dog doesn't like these black outside mornings. When I go in her room for her to get up and blog/Bible study with me, she just lifts her head and then goes back to sleep.
So in 11 days the days will begin lengthening. Sunrises will be here earlier each day. Ron will be out in Hopi doing his Stone Calendar research. Forever the solstice has affected people. Wonder if the ancient ones were as happy as me to have a little more sunshine everyday.

Warm hugs to you today. Whenever you mention dark days in No.Ca I have to giggle-I don't remember being negatively influenced by the darkness. Maybe Santa Rosa didn't get as dark. We have longer days here, but I like long evenings with light. Stay warm and Merry Christmas to you!
