Pastor Shawn’s example of why we need to let go, set things down to move on.
A mom looked out in her backyard and saw her children playing with what they thought were kittens.
They were skunks.
Trying not to startle her kids or the skunks.
The mom called her little ones to come in the house.
Her thought was that they would set the little stinkers down first.
They didn’t.
In they came with their new friends in their arms.
Yikes!
The point is we hold onto our pasts and things we must let go of, set down
Before we can move on successfully.
Too often we cling to our stinky baggage.
God wants us to learn from our missteps certainly.
But carrying it all with us?
Nope.
To truly move forward to our future next steps
We need to set the past down and move on.
I love this truth.
It would be too hard to even take a step if I had to lug with me every mistake.
Letting go can be freeing and so much better smelling.
Thanks Pastor Shawn for putting this visual reminder in my mind.
I don’t want to keep my skunks close.
Let go and move on.
I choose this much sweeter smelling path for my future journey.
In Him,
Joyful
