Four days without blogging. Yikes! I have had withdrawals. First, we are on vacation and busy, busy, busy in the mornings. Spending time with grandkids is more important than blogging. Second, I ruined my keyboard and couldn’t write on the touch screen of my iPad. I know I could have but I have a certain way I blog and am stubborn to blog in a different way. So now that I have whined I will share with you all the incredible events of our trip to the Northwest.
Ron and I came up through Utah in our RV, the Prairie Princess. We stopped at hot springs along the way to relax and shower. There was a significant amount of snow along the route so the going was slow.
We made it to Washington in time to celebrate both our grand girls 13th and 11th birthdays, see a championship soccer game, and watch the finale of their choir endeavors. What a beautiful concert it was.
Then we have spent time with Natalie and Nate looking at wedding venues and places for them to move into in May. Friday, Amber, Briana and Brittney joined us to find the perfect wedding dress. We started with coffee and pastries at Blue Beards and then found the perfect dress and then on to lunch. Natalie’s dress is safely tucked into her soon to be in law’s closet. She can’t stop looking at the pictures and videos of her twirling beautifully. We all cried as soon as we saw her in that dress. It was definitely the one.
This week was also clouded with the reality that my sister and I put my Mom on Hospice. It is time but such a hard reality. Mom is my best friend and I am thankful of the glimpses I still see of her as she slips away with the onset of Alzheimer’s. My time with her is shared with my sister in Arizona and I am thankful that we each get our precious time with her.
We are going to the Olympic Peninsula this week with Cam and Britt’s family. The others will join us for a couple days. The air bnb we rented is near a hot springs and lake. We are taking kayaks and inflatables, board games and stuff for s’mores. It should be a relaxing, wonderful time of connecting.
Friday while we were wedding dress shopping, Cam got a most painful kidney stone and ended up in the hospital. Ron and I got to hang out with our grands while Britt stayed at the hospital with our son. He is home now but will need a surgery to remove it in a couple weeks. Ouch!! I can sympathize since I have had a handful of KS surgeries myself. He can’t blame this Mama for them however. Being an adoptive mom does get me off the hook in such matters.
Now that Amazon overnighted me a new keyboard, I hope to get back to writing everyday. FYI God gave me a sign that I am not to eat an Atkin’s bar before bed at night. I ruined my keyboard by falling asleep with a chocolate carmel bite next to me. The iPad closed on it and it melted thoroughly into the keys. Not even removing keys and wiping it down would save it. A proper tossing into the trash followed. Glad to be back.
In Him,

It sounds like wedding planning is moving along nicely. What a way to ruin a keyboard, that is a first! Melted chocolate treat.
