Now I Will Never Lose My List. How Cool is That!

Making a list and checking it twice is not just for Santa. I make lists daily. Lists for the grocery store, to do lists to organize my day, lists of people to contact, bills to pay, menus to prepare are all on my list of what lists I need to write. Mostly, I write lists then forget them at home or misplace them in my home. When I am cleaning house I make a list and if I do a task that isn’t on the list I add it and cross it off. There is something satisfying with crossing off a task. It feels like I am accomplishing and getting things done. Lists keep me focused and organized. Sometimes I run across a list that I wrote and misplaced. This makes me smile. The fact is I get through life even without the lists. Only a couple times did I forget to pick up one of my kiddos or have no idea what to prepare for dinner because I didn’t have it on my list to go to the grocery store or God forbid even write a grocery list.

Well today things have changed. No this is not an advertisement but a truth about my 2019 list making. Ron got me an Echo for Christmas and I must say Alexa has changed my life. Unlike my paper lists, my cell phone is always with me. I just have to say ‘Alexa, add coffee to my shopping list or Alexa add clean out the refrigerator to my to do list’ and it is immediately on my phone where it is accessible at the grocery store as well as the dry cleaners. Who am I kidding? I haven’t been to a dry cleaner in decades. The best part is that I can cross things off my phone lists just so that sense of accomplishment is still there. Now I always have my list and can add to it continuously. So simple even I can do it. Perhaps Alexa can suggest other lists I should be making and don’t even know it. Heck, I could be missing out! Soon I will have Jenn help me set up my calendar and wake up to Alexa giving me the weather, preferred music, news, and what my day will look like. Guess I better not lose my phone. Oh wait. I can probably get her to help me with that as well.

In Him,
Joyful

  1. I find lists of tasks helpful and necessary. I use paper, ha ha, and have not asked Alexa to add to my lists, had not thought of that. Soon Alexa will be able to DO our tasks.
