Recalling the Past, Enjoying the Present Florida Style

Here I sit in Vero Beach, Ron has been prospecting on the Gold Coast with his new underwater metal detector. No, we aren’t rich yet but he has ordered the UHaul to take our treasure home. Paul and Cindy are with us and we are heading to Key West today for two nights at the southern most tip of the US. Can’t wait to watch the sunset from Mallory Square. Yesterday, we stopped at Mel Fischer’s t treasure museum and took pictures of us in the same spots that we took pictures of our kids twenty-seven years ago. How fun to remember the trip with them and my mom so many years ago.

It is so fun to think back over all the trips we took with our kiddos and now here we are just the two of us. Oh the seasons of life keep changing. It is our job to grab a hold and enjoy each one as we look forward to what is next and remember fondly what was.

Adventure before dementia! We are so grateful to be enjoying time together. July 19th should have been my sister’s sixty-ninth birthday. There are no guarantees how many days and trips we have left. For now we will enjoy one another and remember times when our camper van was filled with the seven of us enjoying Florida. Who knew Tanner was the goofy one? He hardly ever took a serious picture. I hope as a thirty-five year old he is still just as funny. My son who doodles on people for a living.

We will miss the kids watching sunsets and eating cheeseburgers in paradise at Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville but you can bet we will send them pictures to share our adventures and remind them of the good times we shared.

In Him,

Joyful
