Oh the problems I cause when I hurry and try to multitask……….It is crazy how life gets so full and I find myself rushing from one task to another. This morning I have an appointment in Santa Fe with a hand surgeon that has me a bit on edge. Last night, my son-in-love took my car home so we wouldn’t have to move the car seat from the trip to Albuquerque. Tuesday I took Felix to the big city to spend time with his Mama that night. She is staying with Pat while she takes classes Monday through Wednesday. I rushed out of the house to get to White Rock for a washer repair guy and with a house full of family and a driveway full of cars, I failed to see one parked behind me. Yep, I punched the gas and backed right into the silver car with the red car. The weird thing is that among the six vehicles I didn’t even notice the silver one.
My hurry and lack of attention will cost me as I crunched not one but two vehicles. The conversation with my insurance should be quite interesting. A glass of wine may be called for before I make that call. Soon my grandgirl’s family will be moving down to White Rock and there will be far fewer cars in the drive and fewer heads on my pillows. But they will be close only ten miles from me. I love that they are moving here and that I get to watch my grandson and great grandson grow up together. That beats a crinkles bumper or two any day. But I will need to deal with my lack of attention to detail after the hand doc. Pray for me that he can give me relief in my right hand like he did for my left one. Growing old is complicated. I want to be able to write and crochet without pain. That is the goal for today.
