This is a prayer I heard this morning. It reminds me of Elissa’s prayer that comes from a song. That prayer we pray often and have for years. It has gotten me through hard meetings and conversations as I privately recited the words. Recently, I have been having debilitating back pain. While waiting for a catscan I got scared and called in my peeps. Elissa while on her way, sent me her prayer to focus me on who has me in His hands.

Elissa’s Prayer

Lord above comfort me.

Give me courage, help me see.

Guide my actions. Guide my words.

Let me know my prayers are heard.

Amen

I love these words where God gives me comfort, courage, direction and a confidence that He knows just what I am going through. In fact He is right there beside me. This new prayer is one I hope to memorize as well. It gives me faith that He is with me, keeps my family close, helps me be kind and loving like 1 Corinthians 16: 14 says, and gives me support to do what is right. I love these words.

Do you have a simple yet powerful prayer that just resonates with you in every situation? Could you share it with me? Share it with others? You never know when the words that speak into you could be just the ones someone else has been searching for. Perhaps sharing them will give them just the faith they need to make it through a difficult moment or season. I printed up Elissa’s prayer on bits of paper to hand out. I still have a couple in my wallet. Now I need to print more and print some of this SAFE prayer as well. Here is to hoping to hear your go to prayers that lift you up and move you forward.

By the way, I am on my way to a neurosurgeon for my back. But I am much improved with Dr. Shane Wisehart’s treatments. He is not only a chiropractic miracle worker but one of the kindest people on the planet. Physical therapy is giving me the exercises to help. Now we will see what the next steps are. I am not liking all this down time. Elissa brought me clothes from upstairs so people don’t have to see me in just a couple outfits.

Please consider sharing your go to prayer in the comments. It just may be the exact words we need.

In Him,

Joyful
