This is so true. Each of us is here to be the love and care of others in Christ’s name. The whole others concept of doing for others is such a gift not only to them but to us. We are his hands, feet and tasked with wrapping our arms around one another. We all have those who we reach to when we need support or applause. But not only are we to be here for our people but for everyone we encounter on any given day. The guy with the smile tattoo on his face at Sonic who hands us our drink. The kid who is selling lemonade that you stop to support even if you don’t drink their questionable offering. Yes, I do have stories of some of the disgusting things my own boys did to the lemonade they sold. So I am cautious. The pastor who always answers when you send a text or a dad joke. It is for us to be there for others and the wonderful truth is that when we reach out or give even our smile, our day is so much brighter. Just for saying yes to being the body of Christ here on earth.
This is a sermon that touched me so much this morning. I always am blessed when I listen to Megan Harshman. No, you don’t need to comb her hair. It is definitely her signature. But I am linking her YouTube moment for you because it is definitely worth the listen and please be bold enough to share it with others. Even those who are not believers because I think it is a good voice to who Jesus is and how each of us can be closer to Him.
