Lean Into Places that Bring You Joy.

This is my happy place. Wherever there is water to slip into is right where I want to be. Ronnie B took this sunset picture at Inlet Hot Springs next to Utah Lake. The water was warm and the hot bubbles came up through the mud bottom. It was delightfully peaceful.

Whether it is a cold lake, crashing ocean waves or my hot tub on the backporch, water is my happy place. This soak was at the end of our month long rv trip to see family and friends. I could have stayed in there for hours. Oh wait, I did. There is just something comforting about being emerged in water especially water in nature. Don’t get me wrong, I will gladly swim in a pool but it is my least favorite water to enjoy.

Where do you find rest and relaxation? Is it water for you as well? Or is it cozied up on the couch with a good book and a cup of coffee? Do you find comfort in your bathtub or behind the wheel going for a drive with the radio blasting? We all need to consider what gives us pause to just enjoy life then lean into those places.

With Christmas behind me, I am feeling a strong pull to rid out my closet and cupboards. Over the years I have accumulated too much stuff and now feel a need to pass extras on to others. There is really no need for me to have a dozen coats or thirty pairs of shoes. Likewise, I have more pots and pans than I need. So why do I clutter my space with stuff that I have to move to find anything? So this water picture brings me peace but the thought of filling a few large trash bags to donate is where I want to be today. Less is more. I believe that even when I don’t live that way.

I hope you spend sometime in your happy place. Whatever that looks like for you is perfect in its own way. Lean into and give yourself permission to spend time doing what brings you joy and peace. If it is sitting with a friend drinking coffee you can give me a call. That is another way I love to spend my time.

In Him,

Joyful
