'This is for you.' Ryan was 4 when he found me my first heart rock. From then on all 4 of my munchkins would share their discoveries of heart rocks with me. My collection is quite extensive. I always called my kids, my hearts. Even the family ring on my finger has a heart for each of my kids and Ron and I.
The heart rocks led to us finding the perfect rock on each of our incredible trips. We have a rock in our yard from the Arctic Circle, Key West, and of course an array of rocks from the beautiful southwest.
1 of my helpful 5th grade students loves to clean my teacher's desk. Last week, she was sharpening all the pencils from the crock that holds them on my desk. She found a perfect red heart rock in the bottom. It brings a smile to my face and a tear to my eye as I remember Ryan getting off the plane. He gave each of us a hug. Then he reached into the pocket of his oversized shorts and handed me this heart rock. 'Look Mom, I think it is the best 1 yet!'
I think he was right. My sweet friend found me a heart rock that was perfect this week. The rock was amazing, but her sweet, loving heart was what touched mine. Here I thought I may never receive another 1, and now I know that my collection is just getting started.
In Him,
Joyful
