The Sun Is In Her Eyes

Tenderhearted, loving, adorable these are the traits I loved about Tanner when he was a little guy. Natalie was HIS baby. He asked for her on his 3rd birthday. We got him a doll. What? When we got our tiny 2 pound baby girl a few months later, he knew his itty bitty sister was HIS.

T Man helped with everything about caring for his baby sister. From bringing diapers to holding her bottle. 'Hers cryin' he would run in and inform me when she made even a tiny peep. Natalie would have no need go unfilled if Tanner could help it.  When I would go to find out what my little man was doing when he was too quiet, many times I would find him contentedly sitting and just gazing at HIS baby sleeping.

On a particular stroller ride through the neighborhood, Tanner was bugging me cuz he kept walking almost in front of the stroller. I kept running over his little heels. I asked him a couple times to walk beside the stroller but he just kept moving back to the front. What I didn't realize until later was he was positioning himself where his shadow would keep the sun out of her little face. Sweet boy!

This gentle little man has turned into a kind, loving adult man now that he is 23. Although, Tanner is  quiet and  reserved, I know his heart for his family and friends is full. Last week, he called his dad missing his brother. Ron and he spent the night talking about family until the sun came up. A night his Dad will cherish forever. I love my son's deep heart and am blessed to share my life and love with him.

In Him,
Joyful
