Ladies just enjoying an evening off. Tonight was BLOOM at our church. It was filled with beautiful decorations and lovely ladies conversing with each other while watching a fashion show and eating a deliciously presented, light dinner. It was a pleasure to be served and pampered a bit.
Moms work without a break from sunrise to sunset and sometimes into the wee hours of the night. It seems as our kids reach adulthood our chore list gets shorter but our prayer list gets longer. This is the phase of life when we no longer have to tuck them into bed or feed them breakfast every morning. Yet, our minds are ever filled with concerns over their safety, their choices, and their happiness.
Prayers are often our only way of being their protector when they are grown and living on their own. So, we pray and try to remember that God loves them even more than we do. Yes that is true! Our truth has to be that He has them and will walk beside them when we can't. So we pray and try to show our faith by not worrying. Almost impossible I know.
So this BLOOM was a night of pampering for moms of little ones and moms who have empty nests. What a gift this evening was for each of us.
