September 11th used to just be my sister's anniversary, until it became the day America fell to her knees. As the whole world watched, we came together as 1 nation under God, indivisible. The twin towers fell, innocent people died, heros came forward, and the nation prayed. Prayed for our loved ones, prayed for strangers, prayed.
A heartbreak of any kind brings us to our knees. As a nation, we understand the need for God in our lives. He is that presence we turn to in times of trouble and uncertainty. Yet, when life is going well we tend to push Him far from our minds and our focus. Oh, how He wants us walking beside Him in the easy day to day of our lives, as well as when live kicks us in the teeth. His only request is that we believe and have a relationship with Him.
Focus on anything is hard in this age when free time is nil and our lives are cluttered with an endless to do list all the time. I have found giving my attention to the God that loves me more than I deserve doesn't end up costing me precious time, but provides me with a peace to deal with everything else. Life is easier when I spend time on my knees, with Him, everyday. Take time to fill your life with this relationship that will give your life Joy.
Today, I pray for all who were lost and all those left behind to grieve on this day. September 11th, my sisters anniversary, my nations day of prayer.
In Him,
Joyful
