Colorful pictures of excited faces in awe of the size and shape of all the magnificent, hot air balloons. If it is October in New Mexico it is Balloon Fiesta time! The city of Albuquerque fills with tourists and balloonists enthusiastic to watch the skies fill with balloons in every color and shape imaginable.
This year I get to be there with all 4 of my grandkids. Years ago, we would camp with our 4 kiddos and Ron's parents. The boys would sleep on top of the camper in their sleeping bags. I would sleep in the camper van praying the boys didn't roll off in the night. In the morning, the balloons would fly right over their heads as they were awakened to the sound of the burners whooshing hot air to lift the balloons. Staying snuggled in their warm sleeping bags with the show floating right over their heads as their awesome mom hands them up hot chocolate and breakfast burritos. Oh, what a life!
Grownups and kids alike are thrilled to get up close to the balloons and talk to the pilots. There are enormous balloons in the shape of cows, dinosaurs, witches, and even pigs. So, I guess pigs can fly because I have witnessed it with my own eyes.
The most photographed event on the planet they say. I have watched the film vendors be replaced as digital sd cards took over. It is still a memory creating weekend no matter how we store the pictures. Be sure that this Noni will have extra batteries and sd cards at the ready so I can snap a thousand pictures or 2.
In Him,
Joyful
