Be Thankful?

'Be thankful in all things.' I Thessalonians 5:18 to be exact, 'Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.' 


That is one of the most difficult verses to follow when life throws a punch, which it most certainly will from time to time. Being thankful doesn't mean we need to be happy about the rough stuff, but that we have to accept our circumstances and let God shine through the ways we handle all of life. It is a breeze to be thankful when the sun is shining and the park is full. The real test comes when their is a storm cloud gathering to dump all over your picnic. That is when we are called to put our hands up and let God carry us through. Pastor Shawn had us all lift our hands in the air a few months ago, like a baby reaching up to his daddy to pick him up. It was powerful! Reaching up to be lifted up is an amazing sign of trust. Trust that you will be held not dropped, snuggled not tossed aside, cherished and protected.


Be thankful in all circumstances.....have faith and trust that we will be held and not left alone in our lives. No matter what the situation God walks with us all ways, always.
