Black Friday Angels

Mom and I had quite a Black Friday shopping adventure. Much like others we started out at 3am. Amazingly, everywhere we went we found perfect parking spots. Typically, we are extremely organized but this year we didn't even get a newspaper full of ads. So after stopping at a dozen gas stations  for a paper and coming up empty handed, we just took off in the dark with no particular course of action. The only for sure was going to Penneys for Mom's snowglobes first.

Well, as it happened we went to Penneys 3 times on our 7 hour escapade. As people we love were matched with the perfect gift at the best possible prices, we found most of the other insane shoppers and sales associates to be surprisingly helpful. People were patient and in great moods over all.

The high light of the early morning was when a young guy about Ryan's age was helping me find a shirt for Tanner. (Don't worry, TMan is not good at reading his mom's blog...secret is safe) He took us from the maniquin with the shirt  halfway across the store to where the shirt was supposed to be. The size I needed was not there. So off he went to check 2 more places telling me to stay put! So I obediently waited hoping he was not going to get sidetracked and leave me waiting. Mom was off on her own quest at the time. When he returned he told me that it was interesting that I needed that particular size. "Excuse me?"  Then he smiled and pulled out the shirt I needed with a big smile on his face. I have to say, I almost hugged him, not for finding the shirt, but for having that teasing gleam in his eyes. Ryan would have teased with a customer just like he did. I thanked him profusely and restrained from grabbing him for a hug.  I walked away with tears in my eyes and a smile on my face

I miss my son, but have so much to be thankful for.

In Him,
Joyful
