Downed Trees Happen

Our tree toppled over in the mighty winds last night. It was a towering Poplar that came out of the grounds by the roots. Since we had planned to take this tree out anyway and it fell across the expanse of the yard and barely brushed the fence seems like this 'Act of God' was a blessing.

In life, there are times when we wake up to the unexpected sometimes it is a pleasant surprise and sometimes it is a heartbreak. Eventually, we begin to understand that either way there are things in life that are not under our control. The way we get through life with its unexpected twists and turns is to follow the simple prayer. Accept the things you cannot change and change the things you can.

 Of course, we should not sit by and wait for life to unfold. It is up to us to take life by the reins and control what we can, the best we can. But for those unexpected bumps in the road, we need to have faith we can get through them. It is not worth trying to anticipate all the possibilities in life. Life is complex and happens while we are setting our plans into motion.
