Thank You Ludy's For Reminding Us That God Writes Our Love Story

When God Writes Your Love Story by Eric and Leslie Ludy is a powerful book that every young person should read. The focus and stress of hoping for, waiting for, and pursuing the relationship that will lead to finding our life partner is exhausting and often heartbreaking.

The young man who cowrote this book says that he was caught up in looking for a relationship, any relationship while in college. Through this he made his share of bad choices with the opposite sex. Then it occurred to him that his future wife was out there looking for him and how and with whom would he want her spending her time. So he decided to start writing her love letters even though he had not yet met her. He chose to have faith in God's plan for their lives and quit trying to make it all happen on his own.

When he finally proposed to his bride to be and gave her the love letters Leslie says she never had to question if he would be faithful to her. He had been faithful to her before they ever met. Now that is a wonderful way to start a relationship!

Single people, young and old, are so desperate to be with someone that they don't wait on the Lord, but spend all their time working on making life turn out the way they want. Believe me, God may have a plan that you haven't even considered and it is bound to be so much richer and incredible than any plan you can put into place on your own.

As a mother of 4, a potty training analogy seems appropriate here. Mom's get so anxious about the whole toilet training and the worry of failing in other people's opinions. When the reality is, no kid has ever had to wear diapers to his own wedding because eventually and in their own time, kids will begin to use the big toilet and leave the diapers behind. Breathe, relax, it will happen when it happens.

The same is true with love. It will happen, not how we plan or in our timeframe but it will happen and if it is Christ centered, it will be amazing. Trust the Ludy's and this 54 year old who has been married for 33 years and loves my husband more today than I did when I first kissed him at an innocent 17.

In Him,
Joyful
