Resolutions Even In The Bible

Romans 7:15NIV I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do.

At this time of year with everyone making resolutions for the new year we are all thinking of the habits we want to break away from and the new habits that we want to embrace. Some want to quit smoking or stop eating so much while others want to exercise more or spend more time in prayer. So, like everyone else I spent the last few weeks reflecting on Romans 7:15 and ways I can improve my life and my relationships.

So here is my list of what I want to stop doing.

-Time in bed (isolating)
-Being jealous, greed
-Gossiping
-Overeating
-Buying things I could live without
-Spend less time with laptop

Here is my list of what I want to do that I am not doing.
-Quiet time every morning
-Sit down dinners with my family a few times a week
-Exercise:   Gym, walking
-Saturday morning breakfasts
-Weekly Bible study
-Date night with Ron
-Pray daily with Ron and weekly with my kids and grandkids.
-Drink more water.
-Go to dentist and doctor regularly.

Here is my list of 2010 successes that I hope to continue.
-Blogging
-Reaching out to others
-Being honest about how I am doing emotionally.
-Spending time with family and friends.
-Cry when I need to.

We all need to pray for each other as we evaluate and make changes to our lives.
