When I grow up I want to be just like my sister. Teri is content with her life, always enjoying her family especially her grandkids. Being a secretary at a middle school would make most of us nuts but Teri is so good with juggling all the tasks she has to perform each day. She is even the one in charge of the discipline at her school, that has a majority of underpriveledged students.
She has the perfect house because she does not clutter it with too much stuff. Not only does this make her house look great, it also saves her money and time. She doesn't have to spend any effort on dealing with all the stuff so many of us clutter our lives with. Another great thing about my big sis is how she follows routines in her life. Every Sunday without fail she takes time out to do her nails. Her fingernails are healthy and beautiful but the time she sets aside to just relax gives her a break from her busy schedule. Taking time for ourselves is something too often neglected.
When we were young someone once asked which animal we would be if we had a choice. Teri didn't hesitate to say a poodle. She said she wanted to be pampered and taken care of like a well groomed poodle. Her husband, Allen, does a pretty good job of spoiling her with coffee and a lunch ready for her as she walks out the door to work each morning. But the reason he spoils her is because of the love she gives him. He knows that as much as she loves her family and friends, he is always number one in her heart. The well groomed part of being a poodle is true also. My sister is the only lady I know who honestly shaves her legs everyday!
So when I grow up I want to be like my sister, happy with who I am and loving the life I live. Bet people would notice my improved demeanor even more than my brightly painted fingernails, smooth legs and uncluttered house.
In Him,
Joyful
