Fruit Snack Bandit or Mom Detective

Moms have magical powers or so our children think. Actually, they just are not nearly as sneaky as they think they are. I remember so often catching my kids in situations and the trick was to never let on how I found them out.

Once Ry and Colter got into the liquor cabinet above the fridge. They never knew the way we caught them was they put all the things on top of the fridge down on the counter. Silly boys! One time our kids had friends over when they were not supposed to and made the brilliant choice to take PhotoBooth pictures with the computer. Umm, yeah we might have got an idea that they broke the rules. Parents can reinvent a party that took place by finding a single beer cap under the sofa.

Now that my youngest is 21 and the others don't live here, I believed my sleuthing days were behind me. Then my son stopped by this evening driving his minivan with his wife and 3 kids inside. He unloaded things he was returning from his garage sale after a long weekend getting things accomplished at home. I went out and talked to Brit and the kiddos while he dutifully put things in our house and carport. Exhausted, he hopped in and drove away.

When I came in the house there stood the snack cabinet door wide open. Now my son, the father of my grandkids has an obsession with fruit snacks. He hadn't brought any out to his kids so why was the door open? Busted! I called them before they were even off my block and asked to speak to his wife. As I related the fact that our fruit snack thief had struck again she was laughing hysterically. He grabbed the phone and said he couldn't believe I had ratted him out. Of course, he is welcome to all the fruit snacks I own. But come on Cam bring some out for the grandkids, son.

Guess I should really trick him and move them to a new location. Naw, I love that he still gets his sweet tooth satisfied at my house. Instead I will go to the store tomorrow and stock up. It has to be the kind with the liquid blast of flavor in the center, not for my grandkids but those are my son's favorite.

In Him,
Joyful
