Overlapping, Thankfully

I love how God overlaps my life with my own children's lives. When I was doing Young Life with middle schoolers, my son Cam was leading his midschool youth group and Natalie was a high school leader in YL working along beside me. We took some of our teen friends to a few of Cam's youth group meetings. What a gift to watch my own kids in discipleship!

Natalie is an aide on the special ed bus and has been with kiddos who have been and will be my students next year. The enthusiasm they showed as they drove up to the school yesterday when they spotted  me doing crosswalk duty was humbling. Natalie put down the window and they all waved like we hadn't seen each other in a very long time.

This summer Natalie is working as a counselor at the YMCA camp program. She will be with 2nd graders and some of them were my first graders this past year. Natalie came over to meet them yesterday and the kids got so excited to know who they would be with and that she was my sweet, amazing daughter. Of course, I have told them stories about her and told her about them all year. Some of the kids who need love and prayer he most will be in her care all summer. 

God is great with His timing, with His connections, and with His appointments. I adore when our lives overlap so that the impact we can achieve is even that much greater.
