Preemie to Amazing

I am inspired by my incredible daughter's writing. She started and stalled her blog several times and then today out of a joy about her new job she wrote her tender heart out. It is a must read!

This amazing 21 year old entered this world early at only 28 weeks gestation, 12 weeks before she should have come out of the cooker. She was a fighter at one pound 15 ounces with bleeding in her tiny brain. But she grew and she thrived and she overcame obstacle after obstacle. We spent a lot of time in therapy and in warm baths working her little limbs to help them grow and heal.

Today Natalie started a job as an aide on a special needs bus with kiddos in wheelchairs and with learning and emotional needs. Her heart was moved by the joy and strength these angels have. They don't whine about being broken but rejoice in living. No one on that bus was stressing over short bus syndrome or even thinking about being disabled.

Natalie keeps telling me that she doesn't think working with kids is her destiny. I will smile when God reveals what a big role kids will play in her life. When you read her blog you will understand why I believe kids are in her career future. Although, I believe writing and photography are also gifts of my talented daughter.

I sit in awe of my sweet, tiny preemie who has become a faithful, confident woman. Life didn't start off easy for her and she has had heartaches along the way but she amazes me with her resilience. The lesson she teaches me is no matter what life throws us we can get up again if we keep coming back to our center, our strength, our Christ!

In Him,
Joyful
