1 Corinthians 16:14 Do everything in love.
4 simple little words, one of the shortest verses in the Bible, yet one of the most important. If we made this tiny little verse our measuring stick for all our actions what an incredible life we would live. Doing everything in love would rid us of all gossip, jealousy, anger, and deceit. It would fill our lives with giving, supporting, and cherishing those around us, as well as ourselves. Bliss!
Although this is a life path to strive for it is not so easily accomplished. I challenged myself a while ago to reflect at the end of the day and see where I had acted in love and where I had been self serving. In reality, I don't think I made it through a single day where I didn't stray from this verses command. Though I don't feel discouraged because even in focusing on this command, our lives improve. Life is busy and complicated we act and react swiftly to situations. Our actions are not always loving or kind. The act of evaluation our actions can be a powerful tool in moving us toward a loving, supportive life.
My challenge to all of us is to be thoughtful about this verse and this directive from His word.
In Him,
Joyful
