Noni, Buy Me An Ugly Dress

I had an adventure with my amazing 5 year old granddaughter today. She gave me all kinds of great scoops and oh how we laughed. We stopped at all the spots along the way to Santa Fe that she had passed a thousand times and always wanted to explore. A casino, a camel rock, and an opera building were among our explorations. What fun! She wanted McDonald's so she could get a mini build a bear and a cherry pie.

Then it was on to the Children's Museum to paint our faces and explore some more. Finally, we went to Kohl's to buy her a dress. She told me we needed to get her an ugly dress so she could wear it. Hmmmm. Her explanation made a lot of sense. Her flower girl dress is the most beautiful dress so she isn't allowed to wear it. So~~~if she had an ugly dress she could wear it whenever she wants. Okay, so it does make sense.

When we got in the store the beauty of the dresses overwhelmed her. Chuckling she admitted that they really don't even make ugly dresses.  In the dressing room we tried on 20 dresses she had picked out. It was adorable how she named each dress. The yellow one was a Belle dress. The flowered one was a Park dress and the blue swirly one was the Cloud dress. Twirling and spinning she enjoyed the feel and movement of all but narrowed it down to the layered white dress with the black sash. Kenz assured me this was the most beautiful dress of all. Wait. Should we buy the most beautiful dress? Oh yes! We bought it and princess jammies for her sister and big boy Cars underpants for her little brother.

I just hope she gets to wear the pretty white dress or we will have to go somewhere else to find an ugly one. Wonder what she would name an ugly dress? Even an amazing dress is better with face paint from the Children's Museum. Precious!

In Him,
Joyful
