PUSH Then Let Go

This is the day that the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it.

PUSH
Pray Until Something Happens

We have been praying for our son. At this point it is all we can do for him. That is one of the hardest things a parent can face. The fact that we are not the answer or solution to our kid's situation. When they were wee ones, it was our job to kiss the little booboos and get help for the major ones. As the parent of adult children, we have little or no control over fixing their worlds. So we pray.

God loves them more than we ever could. I have to rest in that and turn them over to Him. PUSH, praying until something happens doesn't always mean what happens is the result I was looking for. A few years ago, we were praying for our granddaughter and the end was totally opposite what I thought should happen. Looking back it all worked out far better than I had faith it would for her.

Today we are resting in the fact that our son has moved in a right direction. This doesn't mean smooth sailing from here on out. But it does allow me to sleep at night and boosts my faith. I get frustrated with myself for all the wasted time worrying about the things I cannot control. It seems having faith and living in faith is a life-long process of learning to trust and let go.

People are so generous to pray for each other. Our friends and families prayers serve two purposes. The prayers themselves help and the fact that we are not walking through difficult times on our own is so comforting. We all need the love and support of each other especially in times of trouble.

For now, our son seems to be safe and on a good path. His choices and circumstances have seen him through hardships we never thought he would have to endure. My belief is that God will use all of these experiences to strengthen him and give him direction. So I will continue to PUSH for my son and other loved ones in my life.

Mark 5:36
Overhearing what they said, Jesus told him, "Don't be afraid; just believe."

In Him,
Joyful
