Retirement 101 Hey We are Getting Pretty Good at this Retirement Gig

Ronnie B. and me have been traveling in our casita for ten days now. I won't admit how long it has been since we showered in Ruidoso's at Shelley and Lay's house. But I will say that dry shampoo works and chilly water can calm down even my award winning bedhead. When we came within a few blocks of the Mexican border our phones assured us we would not have extra charges in that country. No we didn't cross over. We actually didn't even bring our passports on this trip. Ron is studying and I am writing so we missed the shootout at OK Corral that is just across the street in Tombstone, Arizona.

I am on a search for heart rocks when we camp off the grid and the best bean burritos when we are in town. The plan is to make it to Tucson tonight but we will see how it goes. You just never know what will catch our eye that needs to be explored or when naptime calls our names. This RVing just the two of us is so different when we had a van full of kiddos to consider. First of all, there is a bed and a table at the same time and then we also have an actual toilet. The toilet when we had kids was just a glorified bucket and bag in a box with a toilet seat. Not so pleasant. Mitzi that we met on this trip suggested that we put cat litter in the box to help keep down the smells. Thankfully, that is not a concern of ours any longer.

We were out on the top of the world in the Chiricahua Mountains and had no cell service for two days. The night before we camped in a Walmart parking lot in Deming and last night was at a ballfield in downtown Bisbee. We are equal opportunity campers. The good news is we never plug into electric or water but just need a flat spot to call home for the night.

The next couple days are a little more complicated since we MUST be able to watch the football playoffs. Hotel, tavern, wifi on our phones which ever we will make it work. This is always the time of year I start grieving that the season is almost over. So go Titans, Chiefs, Rams and whoever is playing the Bucs moving forward. I have been sporting my Seahawks gear. They may not be in the playoffs but they will always be my team.

Just wanted to update everyone on our rolling home moving around the southwest. Who knows we may be dipping our toes in the Pacific before heading home. San Diego tends to call us back to the beach and then we could stop and see Tanner and Bethany before turning back toward the Land of Enchantment.
