Shuffling Stuff and Memories

Out with the old in with the new........wait that isn't what is happening. In with the older and out with the younger. That is about right. Ron and I brought a trailer full of treasures home from his parent's home as we prepared it for the new owners. We are thrilled to incorporate these memory-filled pieces into our home. But where to put them becomes a challenge since our home is already full of our stuff. So a great shift happened yesterday. Nate and Lay helped us haul out a dresser, desk, and table so they could help Ron bring in a leather table, secretary, chair and book shelves. Now to list the discards on Facebook so they can become treasures in someone elses home. Wonder what they will have to pass on to make room for our stuff.

We need to get a balance of what we keep and what we share. Emptying my parents home and now Ron's parents is proof that we all hold onto more than is necessary in life. Our hope is to rid out a little more with each passing year so our kids don't have so much to ponder whether to keep or let go of.

What a joy to have Mom's couch to blog on in the mornings and now to be able to sit and pay bills at Mary's secretary. There is still a lot to unpack but we made good progress with help from family and friends. Natalie and Nate will get Nana's desk and other stuff. Wonder what they will have to share with others soon. Recycling our stuff is the best. Toss away to treasures sure helps connect us and is so good for our budgets.

In Him,

Joyful
